The first Helsinki Education Week will take place 5 – 9 November, 2018.

Helsinki Education Week is an annual, week-long festival with a dual purpose: to make visible all of the exemplary work done in the capital’s schools, while also learning lessons from the rest of the world by collaborating with international education specialists visiting the city.

The week is aimed at not only the world’s education experts, but also the Finns and, above all, the teachers, pupils, and parents of Helsinki.

During the Helsinki Education Week, anyone interested in the future of teaching and learning can organize or participate in interesting events.

Helsinki Education Week has four distinct program tracks: Hands-On, Dialogue, Network and Explore.

The Hands-On track will feature a variety of workshops organized by teachers and students, while the Dialogue track offers up various discussion sessions.  Networking events based on exchange of views and co-learning will be available through the Network track and finally, the Explore track will offer access to a whole host of educational innovations and learning environments.

Helsinki Education Week events can be large or small and can be suggested on the Helsinki Education Week website at

Look out for the first version of the Helsinki Education Week program, set to be released mid-October.

The Helsinki Education Week’s lead organizer is the City of Helsinki and its Education Department and its official partners are HundrED and Helsingin Sanomat.
