Helsinki Education Week Hits The Capital In November With Over 100 Events

The first ever Helsinki Education Week takes place 5th-9th November. It’s set to be an exciting week celebrating the work done in daycare centers, schools and educational establishments around the city. More than 100 learning events are springing up around Helsinki and much of the program is organized in collaboration with international learning experts and developers.

“We are pleasantly surprised by the number and quality of event submissions. Enthusiasm is really great both in Helsinki and in the world,” says Liisa Pohjolainen, Executive Director of Helsinki Education Division.

Helsinki Education Week provides a program for learners of all ages and for everyone who is interested in learning and developing education. The week’s program includes, for example, studying in the school tram, or learning environment experiences both in the forest and in the virtual world. There will also be skateboarding with Skateistan, Escape Games, Pop-Up College in the shopping center, digital and portfolio pedagogy, workshops, documentary premieres, open doors and panel discussions.

The event is aimed at not only international learning experts, but also the Finnish audience – particularly Helsinki’s teachers, pupils and parents. The Helsinki Education Week will be an annual event.

The Helsinki Education Week’s lead organizer is the City of Helsinki and Helsinki School District. The official partners of the event are HundrED and Helsingin Sanomat. For a more detailed program and more information, visit the Helsinki Education Week website at www.helsinkieducationweek.com.
