Stories Across Borders: Well Being through Art and Cultures of Storytelling

The act of memorialisation is simultaneously both, a process of gain and loss. On the one hand, we attach meaning to inanimate objects turning them into symbols or souvenirs for our memories. On the other, with the passage of time, the memory itself becomes specific, rooted more in memorialisation than in facts of the past.

How does this process deepen our understanding of cultures, both ours and that of others? What is the relationship between artefacts and memories and how does it form and unpack cultures for us at the same time? How do objects and stories of memorialisation transform into a tool for fostering well being?

Slam Out Loud is thrilled to bring this especially curated session on the 2nd of November, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. By leveraging the power of art and storytelling - in this workshop - participants will explore the above questions to find and practise methods of well-being that work for them in their daily life.

Join us to set out on a journey of discovering your own culture, understanding that of others, fostering creativity, mindfulness and well being - through art and our collective stories!

The workshop is hosted by Team Slam Out Loud, an Indian for-mission, non-profit that enables children from the most vulnerable communities to find their voice through creative expression, build socio-emotional learning and 21st-century skills to dream bigger and create their future.
